HSP Connections: Where HSPs find HSP-friendly web sites, HSP groups, books, help, professionals, products, services and more!
One of the frequent challenges that faces many Highly Sensitive People is a need to understand the trait fully-- often in the face of limited available information. HSPs have a strong drive to learn about themselves, so they can incorporate that knowledge and self-awareness into a lifestyle that allows them to honor the trait, while remaining functional in the context of the "greater" world.
For the HSP, the old saying "knowledge is power" holds particularly true since we often have different needs than most other people. Whereas general worldwide awareness of High Sensitivity and HSPs continues to grow rapidly, it is still up to the indvidual HSP to learn as much as possible about his/her trait so as to be able to interact with others from a place of understanding and acceptance, rather than confusion and defensiveness.
HSP Connections was created in 2003 as an information portal and printed directory designed to make the learning process easier. As the volume of available information continues to grow exponentially, we continue to examine 1000's of submissions in order to provide a centralized "library" of only the most relevant, helpful and timely resources for the Highly Sensitive Person.
A Directory of Resources for HSPs, recommended by HSPs
"HSP Connections" is a collaborative effort to bring together a large variety of "book" and "human" resources for HSPs in one convenient location. It is truly "our" directory because every resource has been recommended by fellow HSPs-- nobody pays to be included in the directory, and we do not sell advertising space. Resources are updated continuously, with new editions of the printed directory published as changing information warrants it.
During 2012, the format for the print edition of HSP Connections will change from a photocopied booklet to a 4-color magazine format. It will still include 100's of "HSP-relevant" listings, ranging from book recommendations to life coaches to therapists to discussion and support groups and much more. In addition, HSP Connections will now include select articles on issues of importance to HSPs, as well as a selection of favorite quotes submitted by contributors.
To date, the printed version of HSP Connections has been offered in two versions:
The Free Sample Version is a compilation of the most "essential" resources for someone who has recently discovered they are an HSP. It includes key books, web sites and other places to go for more information about the trait. It is available as a free Adobe PDF document you can download, view and print at home.
The Full Version has been a large format bound booklet, which includes an extensive booklist, contact information for Therapists, Life Coaches, support groups, information on web sites, HSP-owned businesses and much more. Copies of the directory have been priced at US$ 10.00 per copy as a printed booklet, or $7.00 as an electronic Adobe PDF file sent to you via email. Orders are accepted online, or through the mail. If you order a printed directory, it will generally arrive in the mail within a week after your payment is received. International orders accepted,
NOTE: The most recent printed edition of HSP Connections is permanently sold out. Because the format of the directory is being radically changed and updated, the full version on line will be disabled until the June 2012 version is published. However, quite a few of the included resources can be found on this web site.

New Format for 2012: From our garage to professional printing
The original "mission" of HSP Connections was to connect HSPs around the world with the information and resources they needed to learn more about the trait, as part of the process of integrating High Sensitivity into their daily lives. That mission has not changed.
However, as the world has changed, we are also changing. The information available here on the web site will be expanded considerably, and printed version of HSP Connections is getting a major face lift and upgrade from its humble roots as a "home made booklet."
Starting in mid-2012, print editions of HSP Connections will become available in a full color magazine format, available through online publisher MagCloud. This will enable us to not only provide a much nicer quality product, but also to service orders in a much speedier manner, thanks to "print on demand" technology. As a piece of bonus good news, the price of the directory-- which has been unchanged at $10.00, since its inception in 2004, will only increase to $11.95 per copy-- keeping our price trend much below the general rate of inflation!
